Commonwealth Games Transportation Management

We're proud to have partnered up with Games LinQ to help them with several large-scale transportation projects for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Challenge

Taxi Booking Portal & Driver Application

One of the projects we've partnered with WCL for was to design vehicle fleet application to act as a virtual nerve centre for the fleet of drivers on the Gold Coast during the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The main purpose of the application was to save time for both drivers and passengers - drivers were assigned vehicles, so that operators could track which vehicles were in specific locations or drop-off points.

Bus/Employee Scheduling Portal with Driver & Workforce Applications

Another project we've partnered with WCL on for the Commonwealth Games was a bus and employee scheduling portal with a driver application and a workforce application.

This application was designed to ensure bus drivers followed a predetermined, bus-safe route when transporting athletes. Like the taxi application, this application allowed GPS tracking and reporting of all active buses during the Commonwealth Games.

The Result

Taxi Booking Portal & Driver Application

This application was designed for athletes and officials to get around during the games. Our application allowed GPS tracking and reporting of all vehicles active within the Commonwealth Games fleet. In addition, the driving navigation was designed to prioritise certain roads, to ensure the drivers remained on the the Games Route Network (GRN).

Bus/Employee Scheduling Portal with Driver & Workforce Applications

The staff was able to download the application and log in to view their entire roster. Employees would also receive push notifications to alert them of any shift or bus changes as they occurred, as well as the ability to report or view any incidents. Any emergency communications were relayed to the control centre from within the application.
